Havana / Havanna

Cuba’s capital, Havana (often misspelled Havanna) is one of the oldest cities of the Americas. It is also one of Latin America’s most well preserved colonial cities. It has been under European and African influences at different times and the result is a vibrant mix of cultures and art. Havana / Havanna is the coolest place to party on Earth where the Cuban dances and music combines with the famous Rum and Cigars; in fact, old cigar factories make a good sight seeing trip too.

Havana will captivate you with its beautiful architecture which has a hint of both neo-classical and colonial. La Habana Vieja or Old Havana, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is full of rich architecture and many museums, palaces and fortresses that will enchant the visitors. A must visit is the Museo de la Ciudad housed in an 18th century palace on the Plaza de Armas, which is an architectural wonder in itself. Museo de Artes Decorativas, National Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Revolution are other famous museums.

Havana is well connected by air; rail and road so getting there shouldn’t be a problem. Pesos is the local currency though US Dollars are commonly accepted at all hotels and restaurants.
